Past Project

USAID Sustainable Peace Activity

This project is strengthening Ethiopia’s conflict resolution and peacebuilding system, which is comprised of individual actors, formal and informal institutions impacting peace and conflict, and communities experiencing conflict at the local, regional, and national levels. USAID Sustainable Peace Activity will provide USAID project teams the capability to flexibly support systemic or structural needs, including, but not limited to identifying and building the capacities of key stakeholders to prevent violent conflict, while also being responsive to emergent conflict and violence. The work will build on the successes, lessons learned and partnerships developed under Pact’s longstanding peace and governance work in Ethiopia. To advance peacebuilding systems and balance power disparities, the project is using approaches that are responsive to the unique experiences of marginalized groups, including women, persons with disabilities, and religious minorities.
