Pact brings a long and accomplished history in Nigeria, a complex country that is home to more people than any other African nation. With funding partners that have included USAID and The Gates Foundation, Pact uses local solutions and builds the capacity of Nigerian organizations to create lasting impact.

Pact and our partners are working to reach and sustain HIV epidemic control among pregnant and breastfeeding women, adolescents, infants, and children in Nigeria through the ACHIEVE project.

Our past work in Nigeria has included governance programming that promoted democracy, fought corruption, and forged partnerships between government and civil society, resulting in the passage of significant national good governance legislation, including Nigeria's landmark Freedom of Information Act in 2011. We recently successfully closed an effort to stem violent conflict between nomadic livestock herders and indigenous farmers in Nigeria's Taraba State, as well as programming to boost solar power.
