During Pact’s long history in Indonesia, we have made marked contributions to local capacity and improved health and environment outcomes. Explore more below.

Where We Work Asia Indonesia

Pact began working in Indonesia in 1981, building the capacity of local organizations to combat HIV and AIDS, supporting street children, and strengthening local civil society organizations.

We continued to improve health in Indonesia through a years-long, USAID-funded effort to build the capacity of local health organizations, including working to improve maternal, newborn, and child health.

Through USAID Green Invest Asia, Pact supported countries in Asia, including Indonesia, to achieve sustainable landscape-related climate mitigation goals as submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The project catalyzed private sector finance to upscale and drive investments in agriculture, forestry, and other land use toward low-emission, profitable business models.

Our environment work continues with our efforts supporting local conservationists and shrimp farmers to restore critical mangrove ecosystems.
