Advancing Rights in Southern Africa

The Advancing Rights in Southern Africa project, or ARISA, promoted and protected human rights, especially the rights of the most vulnerable people. ARISA aimed to improve recognition, awareness, and enforcement of human rights across the Southern African Development Community region. Implemented by a consortium of four organizations including Pact, ARISA worked to create an enabling environment for the promotion and protection of human rights, and to strengthen the capacity and engagement of regional and local civil society actors to seek redress for rights violations.
